She is a tree of life to those who grasp her

These my heart desired

Eli came to us with a vision rooted in both reverence and rebellion.

She was raised in a traditional home, with a deep grounding in Jewish text and practice, but always felt that something essential was missing. Over time, she began to carve her own path, one that could hold tradition while still insisting on freedom. Nature became her sanctuary, the place where she most clearly encountered the Divine through the rhythms and brilliance of creation.

Today, as a Jewish educator and community builder, she helps others find access to that same kind of rooted spirituality, one that is open, embodied, and free of judgment or gatekeeping.

For the text, she was drawn to two verses.

The first:
ืขึตืฅ-ื—ึทื™ึผึดื™ื ื”ึดื™ื ืœึทืžึผึทื—ึฒื–ึดื™ืงึดื™ื ื‘ึผึธื”ึผ
She is a tree of life to those who grasp her

A line that reflects her belief in Torah as something alive and nourishing, always available to those who reach for it.

The second:
ืึตืœึผึถื” ื—ึธืžึฐื“ึธื” ืœึดื‘ึผึดื™
These my heart desired

A more personal expression, carrying the sense of longing and love that led her to mark her Jewish identity now, visibly and permanently.

Gabriel envisioned a tree along Eliโ€™s ribcage, with roots and branches flowing organically across her body, reaching outward while staying grounded. A form that mirrors Eli herself: alive, evolving, and deeply connected to the sacred in the everyday.

For Eli, the piece became a way to claim beauty without apology. A way of finding the holy in the earth and in the breath of community. A mark of spiritual ownership, and of longing brought into form.
