One soul for the two of us

Tattooed at No Regrets Studios , London, UK

Ariel and Daisy from London came to us with the desire to create a shared tattoo that could convey the complexity of building a life together. Between them were children from previous marriages, moments of hardship, and the ongoing work of keeping a family united across differences and change.

In our conversations, we spoke about different aspects of relationship: loyalty, courage, resilience, and love as an active force woven through everyday life. Daisy described loyalty as the foundation of everything, a way of remaining fully present for the people you choose. Ariel spoke about Daisy as his anchor, the person who silences his demons and makes the unbearable bearable.

At first, we explored verses from Ecclesiastes alongside the rabbinic phrase ื›ืื™ืฉ ืื—ื“ ื‘ืœื‘ ืื—ื“, โ€œas one person with one heart.โ€ The conversation moved through different combinations of texts about companionship, mutual support, and emotional unity. Over time, the language became more distilled until one phrase remained:

ื ืฉืžื” ืื—ืช ืœืฉื ื™ื ื•

โ€œOne soul for the two of us.โ€

The image that kept surfacing throughout the process was the raven. Ariel and Daisy had both spoken about ravens as intelligent and loyal creatures that remain devoted to one another through adversity. Gabriel envisioned the project as two ravens connected across two bodies, carrying the same soul in separate forms. For Ariel and Daisy, this piece became a mark of devotion and chosen family. A reflection of two lives joined through loyalty and the daily decision to keep meeting one another with tenderness.
