God is with me; I will not fear
Tattooed by: Georgia Grey, New Jersey, USA
Abrah from New Bedford, MA, came to us looking for a Hebrew tattoo that could hold the things most important to her: her faith, her love for her family, and her unshakable connection to Am Yisrael. Living with anxiety and panic, she knows what it feels like when the body braces and the mind starts to run. She also knows the courage of reaching for breath, for a hug, for words that can serve as an anchor.
The verse that rose to the surface for her was:
ืึฐืืึธื ืึดื ืึนื ืึดืืจึธื
โGod is with me; I will not fear.โ
For Abrah, this line doesnโt erase fear. It allows her to continue her path with the fear present but not consuming her. It reminds her that alongside the racing heart, there is also presence and a strength that cannot be taken away.
Gabriel imagined the verse as an abstract anatomical heart on her left forearm. The Hebrew letters form the chambers and vessels, curving inward instead of severing outward, returning to meet in the center. It is a heartbeat.
This piece is a spiritual anchor: a heart made of prayer, family, and resilience, a reminder that even in the sharpest moments of anxiety, she is held, connected, and never alone.
